Gender in Kumi-daiko
In many musical practices there is always a fine line when it comes to gender. Most of the time groups are either all male or either all female. However, when it comes to Taiko, I have not come across any forceful exclusions of females. It is true that this art form is male-dominated, but mix-gendered groups are not uncommon. In fact, in Canada you are more likely to find a female Taiko player!
